Deeprank Selection Profile (DSP)

Your single source of truth for business identity—the foundation for how AI selects and represents you. Aligned with the Deeprank Profile spec (identity, fit conditions, exclusions).

What is DSP?

The Deeprank Selection Profile (DSP) is the authoritative definition of your business identity. It is the source of truth for generated content, including the 5-section About Us, 20 Canonical Q/A pairs, meta content, and distribution snippets.

Why it matters: AI systems need consistent, accurate source data. DSP keeps your identity, offerings, and positioning aligned across tools.

DSP Components

Identity

Brand name, tagline, founding year, headquarters, and legal entity name.

Target Audience

Primary and secondary audiences, industry verticals, and geographic scope.

Guided Match

Critical: Defines who you're right for AND who you're wrong for. The "wrong_choice_when" field is required—it prevents AI from recommending you to poor-fit prospects.

Offerings (Max 3)

Your core services or products. Limited to 3 to maintain clarity and focus.

Proof & Trust

Differentiators (max 5), proof points (max 10), and trust signals.

DSP Lifecycle

Draft
Canonicalized
Approved
1

Draft

Initial creation. Can be edited freely. Not usable for content generation.

2

Canonicalized

Reviewed and validated. All required fields complete. Ready for human approval.

3

Approved

Locked and versioned. Used for all content generation and AI alignment.

Why "Wrong Choice When" is Critical

The wrong_choice_when field is required and cannot be empty.

This field tells AI systems when NOT to recommend your business. Without it:

  • AI may recommend you to poorly-matched prospects
  • You waste time on leads that will never convert
  • Customer satisfaction suffers from misaligned expectations

Example: "We are wrong for businesses looking for the cheapest option, one-time projects without ongoing support needs, or companies that want to handle everything in-house."

How Tools Use DSP

DSP Integration

All Deeprank AI tools automatically use your Deeprank Selection Profile when available:

  1. 1
Tools check for your DSP: Tools first check whether your domain has an approved or canonicalized DSP.
  2. 2
Your DSP is used: If available, tools use your curated business information for more consistent results.
  3. 3
Tool-specific fallback: Some tools can fall back to website analysis when a usable DSP is missing.

Note: Only approved or canonicalized DSPs are used. Draft, archived, or superseded DSPs are ignored.

Tools Using DSP

DSP Content Generator

REQUIRES DSP - No fallback. Generates About Us, Canonical Q/A, and Distribution Snippets directly from your approved DSP.

JSON-LD Generator

Uses DSP if available, otherwise falls back to real-time business intelligence analysis.

DeepSeeker

Uses your DSP to generate more accurate AI visibility queries and track your business mentions.

AI Readiness Audit

Uses your DSP to provide more relevant audit recommendations tailored to your business.

Content Plan Generator

Uses your DSP to create more targeted 10-day blog content strategies aligned with your business.

Privacy & User-Specific Access

DSPs are Private and User-Specific

Each DSP is private to your account. Even if another user has an approved DSP for the same domain, your tools will never access it. This ensures complete data isolation and privacy.

Privacy Guarantee: Your DSP is completely isolated from other users. Even if multiple users create DSPs for the same domain, each user's DSP remains private and is never shared or accessed by others.
